I swear I was taught incorrectly so many years ago by my Eleventh Grade English teacher! I have had it in my head all these years since that “Its” was one of those all too common EXCEPTIONS to the rule; like “i before e, except after c.” But alas no, they both do follow the rules. So, why was such a fuss made if “it is” was just always following the rules? Sure “its” SEEMS a little funky, and rebellious, until you realize that it’s already PLURAL [And we all know plurals’ don’t get apostrapheezed!]
See more progress on: use it's
